Catawba’s Kronenfeld honored

Catawba’s Pauk Kronenfeld was named SAC Player of the Week for baseball after going 11-for-15 (.733) in the Indians’ sweep of Anderson.
Kronenfeld, who transferred to Catawba from Georgia Tech prior to the 2013 season, is batting .379 this year, third in the SAC.
Wingate’s Ben Currie was named SAC Pitcher of the Week. Currie shut out Mars Hill.
• Pfeiffer’s Dylan Goodman had three hits as the Falcons split a doubleheader against Mount Olive.
Al Pacher shot 8-for-9 from the field, scored 20 points and led Wright State to a 73-59 win against East Carolina in the first round of the CIT on Tuesday.
Prince Williams scored 20 off the bench for the Pirates, who finished 17-17.
Prep sports were wiped out by Tuesday’s weather.
Many reschedules were announced.
South Rowan will play at North Rowan in baseball tonight at about 7 p.m. once softball is done at North.
That game was scheduled for Thursday originally, but South will attempt to make up a conference home game with Cox Mill on Thursday.
South will play at Cox Mill Friday.
The big West Rowan-Carson matchup at Carson was postponed to Thursday. Carson will play at West on Friday.
Carson was scheduled to play A.L. Brown today, but that game may be played Saturday afternoon, as the Wonders will attempt to make up a league game today.
East Rowan postponed Tuesday’s baseball game at Hickory Ridge to today. East hosts the Bulls on Friday.
Salisbury-Forbush baseball is likely to be made up on Thursday.
Concord-Central Cabarrus SPC baseball was rescheduled for Thursday.
• South Rowan plans to play softball at Hickory Ridge today and at North Rowan Thursday.
South is also scheduled to play soccer at North today.
East Rowan-NW Cabarrus soccer will be played Thursday afternoon.
Catawba lost to East Stroudsburg 17-7 in women’s lacrosse played at Shuford Stadium on Tuesday.
Alyssa Corace scored three goals for the Indians (3-5), while Kaleigh Reidy had two.
The FCCA Green Dragons won two weekend regional matches 7-4 and 5-3.
Ben Childresss scored three goals, Wade Robins and Reed Brixley had two each, and Colin Donaldson, Bennett Clark, Oscar Enciso, Will Webb and Will Koontz scored one each.
Hank Webb and Ben Sweet were defensive standouts for the Dragons (19-7-2).
The athletics department at West Rowan is hosting a golf tournament at Crescent on Saturday, May 31. The shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. The cost is $40 per player or $160 per team. If you need more information, please let one of the coaches know.
