Cross-country runners dominate East Rowan Music Run 5K

Six East Rowan High cross-country runners lined up on the front row of the start, ready to battle each other and the rest of the field. On a warm and still Saturday morning, Sean Incardona led the field with a time of 18 minutes and 50 seconds. Taylor Conrad led the females with a time of 23 minutes and 44 seconds.

Top masters (over 40 years of age) runners were Phil Conrad with a time of 25:04 and Dr. Bonnie Michael with a time of 28:48.

Savannah Suneson led the ½ mile fun run with a time of 4 minutes flat.

The proceeds for the event will go to fund band projects at the school. Runners and walkers were encouraged by members of the band playing at the start and finish of the races. They also performed the National Anthem.

Sponsors for the event were Food Lion, October House, Cold Stone, The Hotdog Shack, and Mark Byrd, State Farm Insurance.
