High school softball roundup: Mustangs, Falcons, Wonders win on Wednesday

HUNTERSVILLE — East Rowan’s softball team cruised to a 10-0 South Piedmont Conference win at Lake Norman Charter on Wednesday.

Kimberly Troublefield had four hits for the Mustangs (6-1, 6-0), who pounded out 15 hits and made no errors.

Eleni Miller had three hits, while Madi Tigert and Kori Miller had two doubles each.

Eleni Miller was the winning pitcher, with Camryn Perkins and KP Pfister throwing an inning apiece.

East scored four in the third and six in the seventh.

The Knights (2-5, 2-4) had six hits, with Silvy Schild getting three.

MOUNT ULLA — Robinson scored six runs in the top of the seventh to make things interesting, but West Rowan held on for a 13-10 South Piedmont Conference win on Wednesday.

West (4-3, 2-1) led 13-2 after three innings and made a lot of substitutions.

Emma Clarke slugged two homers and a double for the Falcons. EA Nance had three hits. Riley Haggas and Arabelle Shulenberger had two each.

Robinson made eight errors. Aniyah Jones and Savanah Cloke walloped homers for the Bulldogs (3-6, 1-6).

KANNAPOLIS — A.L. Brown got its first win of the season by pounding Carson 13-3 in five innings in Wednesday’s non-conference game.

The Wonders (1-5) scored seven runs in the second inning to take control.

Marynda Blackwelder had a double and four RBIs to lead the Wonders. Myla McNeely had four hits.

Getting two hits each were Blackwelder, Isabella Butler, Mady Baker, Kaylee Dunning and Shyla Campbell.

Butler did the pitching and held the Cougars (1-7) to three hits.

 

 

 

 

SPC softball West Rowan 13, Robinson 10 Bulldogs got 6 in the 7th. Emma Clarke had 2 homers and a double for the Falcons. EA Nance 3 hits. Riley Haggas and Arabelle Shulenberger had 2.
