SALISBURY — Livingstone College hosted West Charlotte High School’s (WCHS) Culinary Arts Program on its campus on Thursday.

During the visit, WCHS students toured the campus, attended a presentation with the college’s culinary arts department, and viewed Livingstone’s state-of-the-art culinary arts facilities. They will also have the chance to sample various creations made by current LC culinary students, giving them a taste of what their future studies could entail.

Livingstone hopes this leads to a potential partnership that benefits both entities and the community.

“We hope that this event will inspire many West Charlotte High students to enroll in the Culinary Arts program here at Livingstone College,” said Chef Carl Brown, a culinary arts faculty member.

The West Charlotte High School Culinary Arts Program is sponsored through Charlotte-Mecklenburg School’s Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways, certified by North Carolina Prostart, a National Restaurant Association Education Foundation, Safe Plates and ServSafe. The certification further attests to the program’s quality and adherence to industry standards.

Livingstone College is committed to providing students with a quality education that prepares them for successful careers in the culinary arts industry. This event is one of the many ways Livingstone College works to achieve this goal.
