SALISBURY — On Thursday, Nov. 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will welcome community members to a one-stop-shop event at the North Campus in Salisbury for an academic and career exploration (ACE) day. Prospective students will be able to complete the steps to get started for the next semester, everything from application to enrollment. They will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from several programs and tour the campus.

“The college is very excited to host ACE Day for potential students,” said Dr. Carol S. Spalding, president of Rowan-Cabarrus. “This is a great opportunity to experience the college first-hand and interact with our faculty, staff and students.”

While the college hosts campus tours and registration events throughout the year, this the first event where all of the information and services will be brought together for one occasion to offer the ultimate experience for those interested in getting started at the college.

“Whether you are looking to transfer to a four-year college or university, wanting to get started in a career program, needing information on how you can juggle an education while working, or simply want to see what the college is about, ACE Day is for you,” said Dr. Michael Quillen, vice president of academic programs at Rowan-Cabarrus. “It will also be extremely helpful for anyone planning to start courses at the college in 2017.”

RCCC views the academic and career day as one of the greatest opportunities to learn about the institution, and receive the individual attention one needs to get started at the college.

“This is perfect chance to get acquainted with Rowan-Cabarrus Community College while having the opportunity to solidify your educational plans,” said Angelo Markantonakis, associate vice president of academic programs at the college. “Attendees will be able to tour campus labs and facilities, speak with program faculty, complete the admission and FAFSA applications, review eligibility for placement test waivers, discuss career and educational planning and much more.”
