Livingstone’s basketball teams are home tonight for a CIAA doubleheader against St. Augustine’s that begins at New Trent Gym at 5:30 p.m.

Catawba’s basketball teams are on the road at Coker in Hartsville, S.C., for a SAC doubleheader that begins at 6 p.m.

Racing
Hall of Fame broadcaster Barney Hall, a cornerstone of MRN’s NASCAR coverage since the network’s founding in 1970, died Tuesday from complications following a recent medical procedure. He was 83.

Men’s basketball
Pfeiffer lost 106-103 to Barton on Tuesday at Merner Gym.
De’Vonte Jenkins scored 26 for the Falcons (8-9, 4-5 Conference Carolinas), while Mike Smith had 24.
Jake Veasley scored 25 for the Bulldogs (13-5, 8-2).

Women’s hoops
Kelly Dulkoski (Carson) scored seven points for Kennesaw State in a 78-47 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday.

Pfeiffer’s women’s basketball team lost to Barton 82-80 in two overtimes on Tuesday.
Kianna Wynn scored 29 for the Bulldogs.

College football
Shaw offensive lineman Sheldon Saddler (A.L. Brown) has been invited to the NFL’s March regional combine in Minnesota.
The former Shrine Bowler is primarily a guard. He is 6-foot-2 and weighs 335 pounds.

College softball
Pfeiffer softball players Sydney Poole (East Rowan) and Kaleigh Troutman (East Rowan) are on the Conference Carolinas Fall Presidential Honor Roll list. Belmont Abbey pitcher Samantha Jacobs (North Rowan) also made the list.

Prep wrestling
Salisbury will wrestle at West Davidson on Thursday and will wrestle North Rowan at home on Friday’s Senior Night.

East Diamond Sports
East Rowan Diamond Sports is searching for qualified umpires for the 2016 spring season of baseball and softball.
Weekend tournaments and all-star tournaments will also be hosted by ERDS that will require umpire staffing.
For those with a good basic knowledge of the game that need additional training, the league will work with those candidates to improve their abilities.
For personnel who have a great knowledge of the game but may not be able to do plate work, the league can assign those candidates to coach pitch baseball and softball.
