The Kannapolis City Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. today in the board room located in the Central Office, 100 Denver Street, in Kannapolis for the regular monthly meeting. The board will review a survey of its NCDPI facilities, review a city school consortium contract, approve amendments and transfers and review an audit contract for the 2015-2016 school year.

The Cabarrus County Board of Education will hold a business meeting today at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held in the board room at the Education Center, located at 4401 Old Airport Road in Concord. The board will discuss the redistricting of Mount Pleasant Elementary School, Mount Pleasant Middle School and Mount Pleasant High School as the boundary was expanded from the Royal Oaks Elementary School, Concord Middle School and Concord High School attendance area. The board will also discuss the possibility of opening more magnet elementary schools, as Patriots Elementary School can no longer accommodate magnet students due to an increasing attendance zone population.
