Young singers needed to perform in ‘The Nutcracker’

Published 12:00 am Thursday, November 26, 2015

The Salisbury Symphony and Piedmont Dance Theatre will perform “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 19 and 20 at Keppel Auditorium in Salisbury.

A chorus is needed to sing during the Waltz of the Snowflakes, one of the most magical moments of the ballet. This unique opportunity to perform with the Salisbury Symphony and Piedmont Dance Theatre is open to singers — boys with unchanged voices and girls — ages 8-14.

If you are recommended by a choir director, no audition is needed. Otherwise, contact David Hagy at 704-637-8611 or dhagy@wfu.edu to arrange for a 10-minute audition.

Rehearsals will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 19 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Singers need to be available to perform in both performances on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 20 at 2:30 p.m.

To make an appointment or for more information, contact Music Director David Hagy at 704-637-8611 or dhagy@wfu.edu.
