Sweet sounds of song resonated from Livingstone College’s campus Wednesday while students prayed for students, Salisbury and the State of North Carolina.

Students organized a “prayer at the bear” event. The group of more than two dozen specifically prayed for the least fortunate in Salisbury and for an end to crime in the city. Prayers were intermingled with multiple songs.

Students prayed just a few blocks from where a few of the several gang-related shootings occurred last week. During the prayers, students said the community’s best days are yet to come and the worst days are over.

Students said they were praying for those affected and involved in the latest violent crimes in Salisbury.
