A Salisbury man was arrested Thursday when a probation officer searched the man’s car and house and allegedly found marijuana, ecstasy and a rifle.

Patrick La’Wayne Evans, 23, 525 W. McCubbins St., was arrested Thursday and charged with eight drug-related charges. The charges include: possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute; possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to manufacture sell or distribute; sell or deliver within 300 feet of school property; possession of a schedule IV substance; possession of a schedule I controlled substance; simple possession of a schedule II, III, IV, V or VI controlled substance; possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Salisbury Police Spokeswoman Shelia Lingle said the department was providing help to parole officers when the arrest occurred. Evans was on parole for another charge. Lingle said parole allows officers to search a person’s home without a warrant.

Police found a laundry list of items during the search, including 27 grams of marijuana, 2.8 grams of MDMA, or ecstasy, a .22 caliber rifle, a scale, a shoebox filled with ammunition and a hunting knife and $83.
