Fire burns house in Woodleaf

WOODLEAF ó Firefighters responded to a fully involved structure fire at 1046 Jade Street, which is off Joe Summers Road, on Thursday night.
The house, not far off Needmore Road, was reported on fire around 9:30 p.m. and additional firefighters were requested around 10:30 p.m. after first crews moved into a defensive mode.
The single-story home was believed to be abandoned.
Fire departments responding included Scotch Irish, Jerusalem and Woodleaf, as well as the Rowan County Rescue Squad and a representative with the fire marshall’s office.
