NIT Tournament: Baylor blasts Hokies

BLACKSBURG, Va. ó Kevin Rogers and Curtis Jerrells scored 16 points apiece to lead Baylor past Virginia Tech 84-66 Saturday in the second round of the NIT tourney.
Baylor advanced to the quarterfinals and will play host to Auburn on Tuesday night. The Bears, who have won five of their past six games, including three in the Big 12 tournament and two in the NIT, improved to 22-14 on the season.
The only other time the Bears have won two postseason games in a season was in 1948, when the Bears lost to Kentucky in the NCAA tournament championship game.
Malcolm Delaney led Virginia Tech (19-15) with 14 points.

SAN DIEGO (AP) ó Kyle Spain scored 16 points and Richie Williams added 14 as the pair keyed a second-half surge to lead San Diego State to a 70-52 win over Kansas State in the second round of the NIT.
San Diego State (25-9) set a school record for wins and advanced to the NIT quarterfinals, marking the first time in its Division I history the Aztecs advanced beyond the second round of a postseason tournament.
