The People Growing Together Toastmasters is presenting a four-week workshop on developing public speaking and leadership skills.
The club meets each week at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays in the boardroom at J.F. Hurley YMCA, 828 Jake Alexander Blvd W, Salisbury. Enter at the main entrance and ask the receptionist to direct you to the Boardroom for Toastmasters meeting.
The Toastmasters will conduct four one-hour speaking/leadership workshops on Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26. All meetings will begin exactly at 5:30 and will be finished promptly at 6:30 p.m.
National research has shown that the fear of speaking in front of a group of people is a greater fear than the fear of dying.
Toastmasters International has been providing a positive and encouraging environment for people to develop their speaking skills since 1924. Recent changes in the Toastmasters International program now emphasize the leadership aspects as well as continuing to focus on communication skills.
Professionals whose jobs require conducting meetings, presenting business reports and/or making marketing or sales presentations can benefit greatly by participation in the $20 workshop.
The number of participants will be limited on a first come, first served basis. Pre-registration is required prior to Jan. 3.

Registrations paid by check payable to Toastmasters may be turned in at the first meeting.
