SALISBURY ó Itís a weird sight seeing Catawbaís football team in the bottom of the South Atlantic League standings.
But there the Indians are, standing 1-4, a half-game ahead of Tusculum, the only team it has beaten in the league.
It doesnít get any easier for Catawba (2-6) today when it crosses the North Carolina border to face to North Greenville.
Game time is 3:30 p.m.
North Greenville (6-2), led by quarterback Willy Korn, a Clemson transfer, may be as good as anyone Catawba has played to this point.
ěThey may be the best scariest offensive team weíve seen ó and that includes everyone,î Indians coach Chip Hester said.
Catawba hasnít played North Greenville since it clobbered the Crusaders in 2000 and 2001, an era in which the Indians were at their peak and North Greenville was just getting started.
ěItís an unfamiliar opponent for us,î special teams star Mario Washington said. ěWe just want to play hard and finish strong. We had a good practice Monday and we need to feed off that.î
Catawba has scored a lot of points over the past two weeks, including 41 last Saturday at home. Unfortunately, the Indians gave up 51. The previous week, they suffered an overtime loss to Mars Hill when the offense couldnít get it done on two tries from the six-inch line.
Thatís been the problem for Hesterís team. One week, itís offense coming through but not the defense. Then vice-versa.
Last week, for instance, Jacob Charest had a career-high 384 yards passing with four touchdowns. It was the fourth highest passing total in team history. His 35 completions were only three shy of Luke Samplesí mark of 38.
Charest will need that type of effort today.

n Livingstone at St. Augís
Livingstone hits the road for its final two games of the season, starting today against the St. Augustineís Falcons at 1:30 p.m. at Durham County Stadium in Durham.
Livingstone (1-7, 0-5 CIAA) will be without its top two quarterbacks for the remainder of the season, giving way to freshman Craig Murdock to start with freshman Anthony Townsend to work as the backup. Murdock completed 6-of-15 passes last week in a 62-7 loss to Fayetteville State for 49 yards and has thrown for a total of only 54 yards this season.
The Livingstone defense had a stellar outing against the Broncos, holding Fayetteville to only 17 points. Devonta Harmon had a standout performance, intercepting his first two passes of the season and also blocking a kick that led to the teamís other touchdown.
Tyheim Pitt continues to impress for the Blue Bears as he is currently ranked fourth in the CIAA in total tackles and 20th in Division II with 82 total tackles. Pitt also returned the blocked kick against the Broncos 100 yards for the touchdown.
St. Augustineís (3-5, 2-3) is on a two-game winning streak. The Falcons are a primarily passing team, averaging 252 yards passing per game this season and only 60 yards per game on the ground.
Teddy Bacote has been the primary quarterback for the Falcons as he has played in all eight games, throwing for 1,850 yards and 18 touchdowns, but has also been intercepted 11 times.
