ST. LOUIS (AP) ó Matt D’Agostini scored at 3:58 of overtime to lift St. Louis past Carolina.
Jason Arnott and David Backes scored in the second period to help the Blues overcome a 2-0 deficit, and Brian Elliott made 27 saves.
In overtime after the Blues killed a penalty, Vladimir Sobotka won a faceoff, got the puck back from Pietrangelo and fed D’Agostini in the slot for a redirection past goalie Cam Ward.
Brandon Sutter had a goal and an assist for Carolina, Jay Harrison also scored, and Ward stopped 40 shots.
The Blues snapped a two-game losing streak and ended the Hurricanes’ winning streak at three.
Sharks 4, Devils 3, SO
NEWARK, N.J. ó Michal Handzus and Ryane Clowe scored shootout goals and the San Jose Sharks celebrated captain Joe Thornton’s 1,000th NHL game with a victory over New Jersey.
Thornton had a goal and set up Joe Pavelski’s tying tally with 32.4 seconds left in regulation to help the Sharks snap a three-game losing streak and end the Devils’ three-game winning streak. Clowe also scored in regulation for San Jose.
Red Wings 5, Jackets 2
DETROIT ó Johan Franzen scored two power-play goals and added an assist, and Valtteri Filppula had a goal and three assists to help the Detroit Red Wings remain unbeaten with a 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Detroit (5-0-0) and the Washington Capitals (6-0-0) ó are the NHL’s only two unbeaten teams.
