Police search home, charge resident

SALISBURY — A man was arrested today following a search of his apartment which found drugs and a gun, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
Deante Lamont Banks, of 1417 W. Bank St., Apt. B, was charged today after an investigation by the Salisbury Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Unit.
According to a press release from police, officers got a search warrant for the home. Items seized were .7 grams of crack cocaine, .5 grams of marijuana, a shotgun with a modified barrel and $161 in cash.
Banks was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of stolen property and felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Banks was also served with outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court for a probation violation in Guilford County and a driving while license revoked charge in Randolph County.
Banks will have a first appearance in court Thursday and has a bond of $57,000.
