Evening Farmers Market Update

STATESVILLE, NC – May 12, 2011, 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. Statesville’s Evening Farmers Market will feature Goat Cheese and locally grown strawberries. There will be recipes to sample made from strawberries and goat cheese. Anne Cain, owner of Daddy’s Girl Dairy, a local goat dairy farmer, makes the goat cheese. This delicious cheese is a healthy addition to many recipes and dips.  Free samples and recipes will be available.

Available at the market now are “in-season” vegetables, herb plants, perennials, shrubs, onions, lettuce, eggs, fresh baked breads, goat cheese, jams and jellies, handmade soaps, lotions and more.

The Evening Farmers Market is open every Thursday, April through October, 4:00 p.m. – ‘till at Pecan Park in historic downtown Statesville.  Fresh local produce, flowers, herbs, plants, homemade baked goods and a variety of crafts from local artisans are sold.  Support your local farmers.
