There is a lake wind advisory as well as increased fire danger today due to the high winds expected today, tonight and into Tuesday.
The lake wind advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. this morning to 8 p.m. this evening…
Wind gusts will peak during the mid- to late afternoon hours and remain into the evening. Winds are expected to blow southwest, 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
The increased fire danger will be from 10 this morning through this afternoon.
Windy conditions and dry fuels will increase fire danger over much of western North Carolina.
Refer to local burn permitting authorities concerning whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outdoors, use extreme caution.
