Evergreen hosts visiting players

Evergreen’s Friday Sept. 27 game hosted several Concord bridge players when their game as canceled.
We hope they enjoyed our game and will consider coming again soon. There were seven tables in attendance allowing us to play a Mitchell movement.
So many of the hands had unusual distribution which made the play of the hands challenging and fun.
N/S winners: First, Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles; second, Craig Poplin and Jan Metz; third, Wayne Pegram and Gloria Bryant.
E/W winners: First, Harold and Carol Winecoff; second, Chuck and Margaret Rimer; third, John and Myrnie McLaughlin. High overall: First, Ruth Bowles and Marie Pugh; second, Harold and Carol Winecoff; third, Chuck and Margaret Rimer.
Board No. 18 is featured N/S vulnerable, East dealer. The Pugh/Bowles pair scored best N/S bidding and making 3NT+1while best E/W score was made by the Rimer pair setting their opponent’s 3NT bid 2 tricks.

Tuesday’s Women’s Club winners were: First, Gloria Bryant and Judy Hurder; 2/3: Harold and Carol Winecoff and Marie Pugh and Loyd Hill.
The Winecoffs will be giving a short seminar prior to next Tuesday’s game on Take Out Doubles.
The next week they will cover Negative Doubles and the week after Responsive Doubles. Come join us.
