DAVIDSON (AP) — Wesley Dugger scored three of Davidson’s 13 touchdowns, helping the Wildcats beat Division III Guilford 91-61 on Thursday night in a game moved up two days because of the threat of Hurricane Florence.

Davidson (3-0) set program records in the first half with 57 points and 524 yards and added two more in the second half for points and total yards (964). Eli Turner Jr.’s first career touchdown broke the Wildcats’ record for rushing scores in a game with eight midway through the third quarter.

Davidson trailed 6-0 before scoring 36 unanswered points. Will Wicks started it with a 60-yard run and added a 23-yarder with only one shoe. James Story scored from 40 yards out and Dugger added a run from midfield to make it 30-6 in the first quarter.

Davidson scored its next two touchdowns through the air — on Hunter Louthan’s 84-yarder and Wicks’ 76-yarder. Tyler Phelps added a 62-yard rushing touchdown and Dugger scored from 24 yards out.

The Wildcats had nine touchdowns of 40 yards or more.

Alex Manley led Guilford with 364 yards passing and three touchdowns.

JMU 73, R. MORRIS 7

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Ben DiNucci accounted for a career-high five touchdowns and James Madison eased by Robert Morris 73-7 on Thursday night in a game played early because of Hurricane Florence.

James Madison (2-1), ranked No. 2 in the FCS coaches’ poll, tied a program record with 52 points in the first half.

Marcus Marshall went in motion and took a short pass 39 yards to open the scoring. DiNucci made it 14-0 on a short sneak after Cardon Johnson highlighted the drive with a 21-yard run. DiNucci found Kyndel Dean wide open in the back of the end zone for a 15-yard score and a 21-0 first-quarter lead.

DiNucci’s 17-yard scramble made it 28-0 and he threw an 8-yarder to Riley Stapleton on their next possession. Jimmy Moreland became James Madison’s career leader with 15 interceptions on a second-quarter pick-6 and Percy Agyei-Obese scored with 24 seconds left before halftime for a 52-0 lead.

DiNucci was 14-of-17 passing for 184 yards and three touchdowns, and he carried it seven times for 39 yards and two scores.

Robert Morris (1-2) was outgained 391-82 in the first half and 667-223 overall.

RICHMOND 35, ST. FRANCIS 27

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Tyler Wilkins caught a pass in the corner of the end zone with two seconds left, giving Richmond a 35-27 victory over Saint Francis of Pennsylvania on Thursday night.

The game was played early and moved to DeGol Field due to Hurricane Florence. It’s the second straight year the Spiders had a game moved due to a hurricane.

Zach Campbell caught a 12-yard touchdown pass to give Saint Francis a 27-23 lead with 1:10 left Richmond marched down the field, aided by a pass interference penalty, and had first-and-goal with seven seconds remaining. After Wilkins’ 6-yard TD grab, Saint Francis fumbled on the kickoff and Maurice Jackson returned it for a score.

Kevin Johnson completed 22 of 29 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns for Richmond (2-1).

Cortrelle Simpson was left wide open down the right sideline for a 40-yard touchdown and the Spiders converted a long 2-point conversion for a 23-20 lead with 6:42 remaining.

Saint Francis (1-2) outscored Richmond 17-3 in the third quarter to take a 20-12 lead. Bear Fenimore connected with Kamron Lewis for a 15-yard TD and a 2-yarder in the frame.
