The State Highway Patrol is requesting the public’s help in locating the driver involved in a hit-and-run collision with a patrol car in Rowan County.

About 1:30 a.m. Nov. 19, a 2005 Dodge pickup traveled left of center while merging onto N.C. 152 west from U.S. 29, striking a State Highway Patrol car.

The trooper was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup fled on foot and was not located.

After an extensive investigation, the driver of the pickup was identified as William Pierre Hargrave, 21, of Salisbury.

Warrants for his arrest charge Hargrave with felony hit-and-run, driving with a revoked driver’s license, resisting a public officer and reckless driving to endanger.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the State Highway Patrol at 800-233-3151 or email to tips@ncdps.gov or tips@ncshp.org.
