The 14th annual Adam Myers Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at McCanless on June 14 at 9 a.m.
Godstock and Thrivent Financial put on the tournament to keep alive the memory of Adam Myers, who died at age 2 of leukemia at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Proceeds pay for items for children who are cancer patients at Baptist Hospital.
Entry fee is $40 per person or $160 per team.
Individual and corporate sponsorships are available.

– Williams shines
Winthrop senior high jumper Jason Williams will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships that will be held June 11-14 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Williams (West Rowan) finished third in the Eastern Regional with a leap of 7 feet. 1 inch.
The Cleveland native is the first Winthrop track and field athlete since 1994 to earn a trip to the nationals.
– Intimidators lose
The Kannapolis Intimidators surrendered 10 runs in the sixth inning, including five unearned runs, in a 15-6 loss to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Sunday.
– CPL baseball
Wilson’s Jerry Sands (Catawba) had two hits in a 1-0 setback against Florence on Friday and two more hits in a 10-6 victory over Columbia on Saturday.
* Forest City’s Wade Moore (West Rowan) had two hits and three RBIs in a 16-6 victory against Columbia on Friday.
* Asheboro’s Daniel Wagner (South Rowan) had two RBIs and Ryan Query (A.L. Brown, Catawba) had two hits in a 9-2 loss to Gastonia on Saturday.
– Minor leagues
Beloit’s Spencer Steedley (East Rowan) took the loss on Saturday in a 5-4 setback against Kane County.
Steedley surrendered a homer to Larry Cobb with two outs in the ninth to tie the game and was charged with the deciding run in the 10th.
– West camp
West Rowan Falcon Basketball Camp for boys and girls will be held June 16-19.
West boys coach Mike Gurley directs the camp at the school, and West players will help with the camp.
Cost is $50 and includes a Falcon T-shirt.
The camp is for rising second-ninth graders and rising seventh-ninth graders run at the same time รณ from 9 a.m. until noon each day.

– East camp
East Rowan baseball coach Brian Hightower will hold his annual camp at Staton Field on June 23-27.
The camp is for ages 7-14 and will be held from 9-2 Monday-Thursday and 9-noon on Friday.
The cost is $110 and includes a videotape of the player, a written evaluation and camp T-shirt.
