SALISBURY — Job seekers will have options ranging from health care to manufacturing at a Wednesday job fair in Salisbury.

About 50 employers are scheduled to attend a job fair at West End Plaza — 1935 Jake Alexander Boulevard. The job fair starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m.

Some of the employers in the job fair include Delhaize, the W.G. “Bill” Hefner V.A. Medical Center and Gildan.

Job seekers will be able to enter the event and talk to employers earlier than the general public following participation in one of two employment information sessions on Monday and Tuesday at the NCWorks Career Center — 1904 South Main Street in Salisbury.

The first employment information session will be at 9 a.m. on Monday. The second will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Both will include topics such as resumé writing and advice for job interviews. The employment information sessions are intended to help people prepare for the job fair on Wednesday.

Debbie Davis, who leads the NCWorks Career Center in Salisbury, said most employers participating in the job fair have indicated full-time opportunities are available. Part-time positions will also be available, Davis said.

She said the pay for positions at the job fair will vary widely because of requirements for the jobs. Some jobs require college degrees. Others will not.

On the day of the job fair, there will also be an employer panel starting at 9 a.m. It will also be held at West End Plaza. Participating employers will provide information about their companies and answer other questions during the panel.

Sponsors for the job fair include: The City of Salisbury, Rowan County, NCWorks in Salisbury, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, RowanWorks Economic Development, Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, Rowan-Salisbury School System and the Centralina Workforce Development Board.
