SALISBURY — Who will make your health care decisions if you cannot?
Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care is offering free workshops about advance health care planning on the third Tuesday of each month, starting this Tuesday.
The workshops will be held at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Glenn A Kiser Hospice House, 1129 Statesville Blvd.
Presented by the regional office of Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care, the workshop is a chance to get living wills and health care power of attorney documents in place.
A workshop facilitator will be there to provide and review the documents and answer questions.
A notary will also be in attendance to help with finalizing documents.
The purpose of advance health care planning is to:
• Understand your possible future health care choices
• Think about your choices in light of what is important to you.
• Talk about your decisions with your loved ones and doctors.
• Write down your health care wishes and plans so they can be honored.
• Have these legal documents in place if needed.
Participants are asked to register in advance at 704 637-7645 and bring a picture ID to the workshop.
They’ll also be asked for an email address so they can review information.
Groups of 15 or more may be able to schedule a workshop at their location.

This program, provided by Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care provides the opportunity for churches, community centers, businesses and other groups to take advantage of this public service.
