CLEVELAND – Mrs. Myra Steele McCachren, 50, of Cleveland, died Sunday Jan. 14, 2007 at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte after a 2 month illness.

Mrs. McCachren was born on Oct. 20, 1956 in Iredell County to Carl Gordon Steele and Frances Anderson Steele of Cleveland. She was a graduate of West Rowan High School and Pfeiffer College. Mrs. McCachren taught 4th grade at Woodleaf Elementary School and was a member of the NC Association of Educators. She was also a member of South River United Methodist Church and sang in the choir at Thyatira Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. McCachren is survived by her husband, Jon Hoyt McCachren whom she married on June 20, 1992; daughters, Kristen McCachren Raymer and her husband, Justin of Cleveland, Cari Michelle McCachren of Hillsborough and Mary Alexander McCachren; brother, Wesley Gordon Steele of Cleveland, and sister, Linda Steele Cranford of Cleveland.

Service: A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Thyatira Presbyterian Church. Rev. Sandra M. Kern, Pastor of Thyatira Presbyterian Church, will lead the service.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Thyatira Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
