Rowan weather: Fire danger today

Low humidity, gusty winds and warm weather have led to an increased fire danger this afternoon and early evening.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory on an elevated risk of wildfires. They are urging people to check on burn permits before trying to burn anything today.

It will be sunny and warm, with a high of 75 and west southwest winds at 5-7 mph. Tonight’s low will be 46, with north wind at 3-6 mph.

Friday will be mostly sunny and cooler, with a high of 68 and west winds at 5-10 mph. Friday night’s low will be 42.

Saturday has a 30 percent of rain, mainly after noon. It will be most cloudy and cooler again, with a high of 55 and east wind at 5-7 mph. A 60 percent chance of rain moves in Saturday night, with a chilly low of 38.

On Sunday, Palm Sunday, expect more rain, with another 50 percent chance, and mostly cloudy skies with a high of just 50 degrees. The low will dip to the freezing mark, 32.

The sun returns Monday, with a high of 56 and a low of 36.

Tuesday will be sunny, too, with a high of 62 and a low of 43.

And Wednesday, we may hit 70, with more sunny skies.
