A Salisbury man was robbed Monday morning at gunpoint by a man he recognized and who he says knew he’d just gotten paid.

The victim told Salisbury Police the incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 8:12 a.m. at Sterling Trace Apartments at 200 Castlewood Drive.

The man said he was walking on the sidewalk when a blue four-door Hyundai passed him and then circled back. The passenger, whom the victim said was someone he’d known from his past, said, “Give it up man, I know you got paid.”

The victim ignored the passenger until he drew a revolver and aimed it at the victim. The victim handed over money. The passenger also said, “Don’t look back, keep walking.”

He described the passenger as a tall, skinny, black male with dreadlocks. He was wearing dark clothes. He did not recognize the driver, described as a black male who was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
