Police say an intoxicated man refused to pay his bar tab at Applebee’s after racking up over $100 in charges this weekend.

Christopher Lewis, 31, of the 500 block of Geroid Street, Salisbury, was charged with misdemeanor defrauding an innkeeper and misdemeanor intoxicated and disruptive.

Officers were called to the Faith Road restaurant around 1:30 a.m. to see an intoxicated Lewis sitting at the counter. The officer asked if he had the money to pay the $186.75 bill.

Lewis reportedly told the officer he had “lots of money.” The officer asked him to pay the bill and Lewis told the officer he would “pay everybody’s bill.”

He grabbed a bag and dumped change onto the counter. He was arrested and charged.

Lewis was issued a $1,500 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
