Livingstone’s basketball teams are home for a doubleheader Saturday against Virginia State.

Games are at 5:30  and 7:30 p.m.

Catawba’s teams are also home today. The Indians take on Brevard at 2 and 4.

Former Carson star Darius Moose is a standout for Brevard.

Prep hoops

Salisbury’s boys routed East Davidson 87-36 in their CCC opener on Friday.

Will Leckonby had a season-high 14 points and Wes Fazia added 12 for the Hornets (11-4).

• Salisbury’s girls lost 69-19 to the unbeaten Golden Eagles. Baylee Plummer had 27 points and eight blocks.

• Davie County’s boys ended a 16-game losing streak in the CPC by routing Parkland 86-47 on Friday.

Davie (6-9, 1-4) jumped to a 25-8 lead after a quarter.

Heath Slabach scored 21 points for the War Eagles.

Jordan McDaniel (15), Cooper Wall (13) and Dylan Shoffner (12) also scored in double figures. Holden Poole scored nine.

• A.L. Brown’s girls lost 59-49 to Mallard Creek.

Aitana Grant led the Wonders with 13 points. Talethia Alexander scored 11.

• A.L. Brown’s boys won 74-61 against Mallard Creek for their first MECKA win of the season.

Jaylon Neal had 25 points and seven rebounds. Joekeem Neal had 19 points and six assists.

• Tyler Grooms scored 21 points to lead West Davidson to a 56-43 CCC win against Thomasville on Friday.

Jayvee boys

North Rowan fell 60-49 to Lexington on Friday.

Leading Lexington to the win was Adrain Craven with 12 points.

North Rowan was led in scoring by Andre Gray with nine points.

• Carson stayed unbeaten with a 71-55 win against Cox Mill.

Owen White had 22 points. Jailen Williams had 17, Mason Mills had 11, Elijah Moss scored seven, and Cameron Prugh had six.

• East Rowan’s jayvees got 14 points from Isaac Baker and 10 from Paiton File in a 52-39 win against South Rowan.

Peyton Lambert hit a key  3-pointer.

8th-grade hoops

West Rowan Middle’s boys won 38-18 against Southeast.

Robert Caldwell scored 11 points for the Bulldogs, and  Payne Stolsworth had 10.

Devin Basenbach had 12 rebounds.

North Hills hoops

The North Hills girls won 24-11 against Lake Norman Christian.

Morgan Humble and Elizabeth Jones scored eight points apiece.

Sacred Heart hoops

Sacred Heart’s varsity boys defeated Salisbury Academy 39-28.

  Jack Fisher led the Dolphins with 17 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.

Spencer Blackwell and Bill Fisher finished with  six points each.  Zach Robinette scored five.  Blaine Shellhorn and Luke Holland sparked the defense.

Charlie Barr led Salisbury Academy with seven points.

• Sacred Heart’s varsity girls lost to Salisbury Academy 49-48.

Mary Sobataka led the Dolphins with 34 points, while  Alyssa Lopez contributed six.

Ellen Simons led Salisbury Academy with 14 points.

•  Sacred Heart’s jayvee boys won 41-21 against Salisbury Academy.  Will Webb led the Dolphins with 14  points. Jalon Walker scored eight. Ben Childress had five.

  Will Fowler scored 14 for the Jaguars.

• Sacred Heart’s jayvee girls lost to Salisbury Academy 20-14.

Rachel McCullough had 12 points. Gianna Patella and Sutton Webb led the defense.
