Livingstone’s men’s basketball team won 70-58 against Morehouse in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Bears improved to 6-1.

Women’s hoops
Pfeiffer edged Catawba 78-76 at Goodman Gym on Saturday.
Jodie Lemons hit six 3-pointers for the Falcons (7-1) and scored 22 points. Brittany Cox scored 18, Christina Harvey scored 14, and Bridget Rothert had 11.
Chloe Bully scored 16 to lead the Indians. Quaneasia Coleman scored 13, Antionette McPhai had 12, and Elizabeth Merritt scored 10.
Catawba (4-4) plays at Queens next Saturday in its last game before the Christmas break.

Prep swimming
In the South Rowan’s boys swim meet with South Iredell, Dillon Parker (50 free), Bryan Bettis (100 free), Jeremiah Bradshaw (500 free), Dylan Goodman (100 backstroke) and Jonnie Lefebvre (100 breaststroke) all won events. The Raiders swept the relays. Goodman, Lefebvre, Bradshaw and Parker won the 200 medley relay. Bonner Buchanan, Goodman, Luke Rary and Parker won the 200 freestyle relay. Bradshaw, Bettis, Dustin Jenkins and Rary won the 400 freestyle relay.
The Raiders return to action on Tuesday against West Rowan and Carson.

Prep football
The NCHSAA announced the move of this summer’s East-West All-Star Game from Greensboro Grimsley’s Jamieson Stadium to High Point’s Simeon Stadium.
The game has been played at Jamieson for 64 years, but there is a construction project going on there.
The crowd for the game last July was 7,623. Simeon Stadium holds 10,000.

8th-grade basketball
Corriher-Lipe’s girls beat West Rowan Middle 32-12.
The Yellow Jackets’ defense led by Camden Carlton, Alyson Brewer and Alexcis Cameron forced 42 turnovers.
Keirsten Morgan scored 10 points for Corriher-Lipe (3-4). Kallie Ketchie had eight points. Hannah Lambert had five blocks.
Debrayha Turner led the Bulldogs with four points.
• West Rowan Middle’s boys played a strong second half and beat Corriher-Lipe 42-19.
Armoni Hogue led the Bulldogs (5-1) with 14 points. Jagger Love scored 10, and Rodney Howell had six.
Jovon Quarles had seven rebounds, and Howell pulled down six.
Matthew Mills scored seven points for the Yellow Jackets.
• Micah Furr’s 16 points led Erwin’s girls to a 43-28 win against North Rowan Middle.
Breya Philpot had 12 points, 17 rebounds, five steals and four blocks for the Eagles (7-1). Destiny Jackson scored eight points. Ashlyn Mills had five points and eight rebounds.
Priscilla Oglesby led the Mavericks (3-3) with eight points. Brianna White scored six, and Dekniveya Joyner and Mia Thompson scored five each.
• North Rowan Middle’s boys beat Erwin 38-27 behind Joseph Scott’s 19 points. Jericho Alexander scored six for the Mavericks (2-4).
Franklin Downing led Erwin (4-4) with eight points. Jonathan Brindle scored seven, and Lucas Morton added five.

Sacred Heart hoops
Annie Habeeb scored 11 points and Julia Honeycutt had eight as Sacred Heart’s varsity girls won 40-10 against Concordia. Ann Marie Metz and Mary McCullough also had nice games.
• Mary Sobataka scored 15 points as Sacred Heart’s jayvee girls won 21-18 against Concordia. Lauren Denhart and Elizabeth Graeber helped out in the scoring column.

East YMCA program
The Saleeby-Fisher YMCA, East Rowan Branch, is taking registrations for boys basketball leagues for ages 7-14.
Registration ends Dec. 22.
Games are on Mondays and Tuesdays. Practices are on Thursdays. No games or practices are on Saturday.
