Two people were taken to the hospital Saturday in a two-vehicle collision on N.C. 150, near Miller Road when they were struck by an oncoming motorist.
Kaitlyn Allen, 17, of Salisbury, was driving in the west bound lane of N.C. 150. Her mother, Michelle, and brother Wesley, 5, were passengers in the vehicle. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m.
Makera Pinkston, 19, of Devon Forest Drive, Mooresville, ran off the road to the right, said N.C. State Highway Patrol Trooper R.T. Coward, and overcorrected, causing her vehicle to go left of center, striking the Allens. Michelle and Kaitlyn Allen were taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Pinkston was charged with traveling left of center. Locke Fire Department and Rowan Rescue also responded in addition to the Highway Patrol.
