MOCKSVILLE (AP) ó More than 200 employees at a Jockey International Inc. knitting plant in Mocksville will lose their jobs by next spring when the plant closes.
The company said Friday it will provide severance pay, benefits continuation and job skill training assistance to affected employees.
Jockey International President Edward Emma said the plant, located on U.S. 601 across from Davie County High School, requires substantial capital investment to remain competitive.
The clothing company also is closing a sewing plant in Jamaica, where 570 employees will lose their jobs.
