Greetings and good day, Mr. Holt. 

My long-standing interest and familiarity regarding network journalism began in early childhood with periodic, televised black and white, 15-minute installments of the early evening  “Huntley/Brinkley Report.”

I thank you for your continuing career commitment to further the standards of responsible professionalism. 

No doubt, with your lifelong experience in observing the significance of human relationship, you are well aware of the value of a single/solitary word in expressing an ideal. 

In keeping with Abraham Lincoln’s presidential exhortation of “binding up the nation’s wounds” and by similar example; I am correspondingly encouraging you to modify your gracious daily benediction to stress “one another” in contrast to your present concluding expression of “each other.” 

“Take care of yourself, and one another” is essentially, equally inclusive in tone. 

My father always instilled in his sons. “It’s the little things in life that throw you.”

It’s the “little things” that either unite us as “one people” or implicitly divide us from “each other” only to emphasize an “other.”

In a similar manner, the tiny word “as” is positively inclusive and conditionally presumes the necessity of assent. Whereas, the currently over-worked word “if” is essentially equivocal and divisive by implying an imprecise, presumptive doubt to underscore a questionable expectation. 

Accordingly, there is a world of interpretive difference to the one, initial Hebrew word of II Chronicles 7:14 which correctly begins: “As, my people…” (and not, errantly: “If my people.”)

Therefore, as an audience of one, please permit me to conclude by likewise, mutually recommending:

“Take care of yourself, and one another.”
