LEXINGTON — East Rowan golfer Jaden Sprinkle shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday and won a Tarheel Youth Golf Association event held at Sapona.

Sprinkle shot 73 in Saturday’s first round.

He made 27 pars, five birdies and four bogeys in the event.

Also shooting 143 was Parker Gordish of Huntersville who shot rounds of 75 and 68.

East Rowan golfer Landon Merrell, the county champ, shot 70-79 — 149 and tied for third.

Merrell had a strong round on Saturday, but a double bogey hurt him on Sunday.
