SALISBURY — A GoFundMe drive was organized to assist the family whose Crawford Street home was destroyed in a Friday fire.

“My husband, our three children and I lost everything we had in a house fire this last Friday,” the GoFundMe post reads. “Except for out pets, everything else is gone. We desperately need some help to survive the next month or so.”

According to the post, the family has an infant, six-year-old and 11-year-old boys, a small dog and two guinea pigs which “thankfully survived the fire.”

The post continued, “Any funds or supplies you can send would be amazing! God bless!”

The drive specifically requests items for infant care such as milk, diapers, as well as food for the family and the pets as well as clothes.

According to the post, the boys sizes are:

  • Our oldest boy is size 10/12 for both shirts and pants. Large boys socks.
  • Our younger boy is size 6/7 for shirts and pants. Medium boys socks.
  • Our baby’s size is 18-24 months in shirt, bottoms and socks.
“We’re also looking for a place to stay for the five us,” the post said. “Any information or help here would be appreciated.”
The fire broke out Friday evening when the family was not home.
According to the Salisbury Fire Marshal Terry Smith, the fire has been listed as accidental.
“There were electrical issues going on inside the attic,” Smith said on Monday. “Everything pointed toward electric manufacturing up there.”

Smith added that there was no determination of anything suspicious and that Ring camera footage from nearby homes confirmed the fire began in the attic. The American Red Cross assisted with the displacement.
