High school track and field: Butler sweeps throws in meet at East

GRANITE QUARRY — East Rowan’s Jacob Butler swept the throws in Thursday’s track meet at East that included five South Piedmont Conference schools.
Butler had efforts of 47 feet, 2 inches in the shot put and 125 feet, 5 inches in the discus.
East’s Christian Seballos (9-6) and Kaleo Tolentino went 1-2 in the pole vault.

West Rowan went 1-2 in the 400 meters, with Brennon Stevenson (53.33 seconds) and Jaden Still.
West’s Jonathan Medina won the 800 in 2:14.11. West’s Kaden Feaster won the high jump (5 feet, 10 inches). West’s Kendik Cornelius won the triple jump (40-3).

East’s Savannah Wise won the 200 in 28.33 seconds.
West’s Isabella Sharpless (4-6) and Jayden Carter went 1-2 in the high jump.
