CONCORD – East Rowan’s baseball team is 4-0 after beating Robinson 10-2 on Thursday.

Most significantly, all four wins are in the South Piedmont Conference.

Win No. 4 wasn’t as easy as it sounds. Robinson led East 2-1 after five innings, but then the Mustangs put together an eighth-run top of the sixth.

Nate Hayworth pitched into the fifth inning. Cobb Hightower got the last seven outs and was credited with the victory.

Hightower didn’t get much to swing at when he was at the plate, but he did have a triple.

Harrison Ailshie led the offense with a double, homer and three RBIs.

Braden Shive went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Sam Blackwelder drove in two, while Hayworth and McCall Henderson scored two each.

Robinson (2-3, 1-2) is competing well after moving up to the 3A SPC. The Bulldogs lost in extra innings to Carson and won an extra-inning game with South Rowan.
