Police: Man stabbed in head with screwdriver after violating restraining order
SALISBURY — A local man faces a domestic violence-related charge after he allegedly violated a domestic violence restraining order and showed up at a woman’s home.
The woman stabbed her ex-boyfriend in the head, said Salisbury police spokesman and detective Russ DeSantis.
Police were called to the 300 block of South Craige Street at 3 a.m. Friday after they found Rodney George Withers, 24, inside the home.
The woman told police Withers broke into her home, violating the restraining order. According to Withers, he was allowed to be at the house. The woman stabbed Withers in the forehead with a screwdriver. He received a superficial wound to the head, police said.
Withers was charged with misdemeanor domestic criminal trespass. He was not issued a bond due to the domestic violence nature of the incident.
