The Boyden High School Class of 1964 celebrated its 55th reunion over the weekend of Oct. 11-13, 2019 in Salisbury.

More than 70 class members, spouses and guests attended the activities during Salisbury’s OctoberTour weekend.

Reunion activities included social gatherings on Friday and Saturday evenings at the Gable’s Clubhouse on Faith Road, plus a Saturday morning brunch at Foil-Tatum Park in Salisbury. A class favorite meal of BBQ and Cheerwine was served on Saturday evening.

On Sunday morning a class memorial service was conducted for the 62 deceased class members at First United Methodist Church. Class ministers Rev. Doug Williams, Rev. Jim Dyer, Rev. Dr. Pat Black Spicer and Lay Minister Brenda Loflin conducted the service. Music was provided by Sylvia and Rodney Boutwell.

Ever-Lasting Class President Ronnie Smith welcomed the class and recognized class members and guests attending the weekend festivities. Class members exchanged memories and memorabilia from their high school days.

Class member Phil Rosenbaum was presented the prize for the most grandchildren (14), and Eugene Newell was recognized for travelling the greatest distance, from Alaska. Smith also recognized reunion committee and chairperson Brenda Loflin.

The class meets the first Saturday of each month for brunch at a local restaurant. For more information, contact Brenda Loflin at 704-633-6730 or Ronnie Smith at 980-234-7585.
