SALISBURY — A free lunch for veterans will be offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 7 at Harold B. Jarrett American Legion Post 342, 1024 Lincolnton Road.

Sponsors are Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rowan County Sheriff Kevin Auten and Rowan County Register of Deeds John Bringle.

Those attending are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy for Operation Toy Soldier or a used U.S. flag for the Retire Your Flag With Honor program.

The lunch is in addition to the Thelma’s Tribute to Veterans lunch, which will be offered for veterans, family members and supporters from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at the West End Plaza Events Center, 1935 Jake Alexander Blvd.
