Salisbury lost 5-0 to Hendersonville in Thursday’s 2A regional Western final played at Lake Norman Tennis Center.
Salisbury finished 15-1.
Hendersonville (18-0) advances to Saturday’s state championship match against Science & Math or Carrboro.
HS volleyball
In the 3A state playoffs, No. 4 seed Watauga swept Cox Mill and will play at West Rowan on Saturday.
No. 3 Marvin Ridge swept Southwestern Randolph, while No. 2 West Henderson won 3-1 against South Iredell.

In the 2A state playoffs, No. 1 Fred T. Foard swept R-S Central on Thursday.
Brevard beat Forbush 3-1.
College wrestling
UNC Pembroke’s Brandon Sloop (Carson) will enter the season ranked No. 11 in Division II at 184 pounds.
UNC Pembroke is ranked 21st nationally.
