Blotter: Salisbury woman cited for marijuana, arrested on outstanding warrants

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department issued a citation to a woman for simple possession of marijuana and an open container violation after a check of her vehicle license plate.

The officer noted a strong odor of marijuana when he approached the driver.

Cindy Gisela Garcia-Ortega, 22, of the 300 block of Oakhurst Drive, was cited. Officers determined she had outstanding warrants on charges of simple possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia from September 2018.

According to a report, Garcia-Ortega admitted that she had a THC vaping pen and 4 grams of marijuana in the car. An alcoholic beverage was sitting in the front passenger seat.

Garcia-Ortega was issued a $1,000 secured bond.

• A man reported Friday that someone broke into a storage building and stole items in the 400 block of Liberty Road, Gold Hill.

• Authorities reported Friday that they issued a citation for marijuana possession in the 3400 block of South Main Street.

• A woman reported a burglary Friday in the 200 block of Westen Acres Drive, Kannapolis.

• A man reported Friday that a handgun, money, jewelry, coins and a safe were stolen in the 5100 block of Bringle Ferry Road.

• A man reported Friday that someone broke into an unoccupied residence in the 1000 block of Julian Road.

• A man reported a burglary Friday in the 2500 block of Poole Road.

• A woman reported a burglary Friday in the 1100 block of Julian Road.

• Authorities on Friday cited a person for possession of marijuana after a stop on Ebenezer Road, Kannapolis.

• A citation for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession was issued Friday in the 800 block of Julian Road.

• A woman reported a physical assault Saturday in a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Julian Road.

• Rowan authorities reported Saturday that narcotics were found on the floor of the Rowan County Detention Center.

• The owner of Coyote Ugly Bar reported vandalism Saturday at the business, 1804 N. U.S. 29.

• A woman reported a stolen lawnmower Saturday in the 4100 block of Old Mocksville Road.

• Two teenagers were involved in an altercation at Blue Waters Pool on Saturday at 227 Blue Waters Drive.

• A woman reported Saturday that someone stole belongings from her trailer in the 6500 block of Mooresville Road.

• An arrest was made Saturday when officers narcotics and a handgun during a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Lower Palmer Road.

• A woman reported a domestic assault Saturday in the 6700 block of Unity Church Road, Kannapolis.

• A woman reported stolen property Saturday leading to a vehicle chase on U.S. 52 in Gold Hill.

• A man reported an assault Sunday at the North N.C. 152 off ramp of Interstate 85, China Grove.

• A man reported a theft from a motor vehicle Sunday in the 8500 block of Unity Church Road, Kannapolis.

• Angel Lorene Solis, 30, was charged Friday with possession of drug paraphernalia on West Church Street, China Grove.

• Jahbreel Kzarian Russell, 18, charged with possession of a controlled substance Friday in the 3000 block of U.S. 29.

• Jaclyn Marie Rossetti, 32, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance Friday in the 800 block of Julian Road.

• Jacob Eugene Layton, 22, was charged with possession of a controlled substance Friday at North Cannon Boulevard and Ebenezer Road, Kannapolis.

• Andrea Kendall Warren, 42, was charged with simple assault Saturday in the 1300 block of Julian Road.

• Martin Preston Latta, 38, was charged with simple assault on a female Saturday in the 1300 block of Julian Road.

• Troy Chase Caster, 20, was charged with assault by pointing a gun Saturday in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

• Tamar Anthony McNeely, 27, was charged with assault by pointing a gun Saturday in the 400 block of Paige Drive.

• Mark Randall Wright, 60, was charged with breaking and entering Saturday in the 100 block of Swiss Lane, Kannapolis.

• Teddy Ray Marlow, 44, was charged with assault on a female Saturday in the 2600 block of Lower Palmer Road, Gold Hill.

• Donna Michelle James, 45, was charged with possession of a controlled substance Saturday at Lower Palmer and St. Stephens Church roads, Gold Hill.

• Rogelio Gomez Torres, 63, was charged with assault on a female Saturday in the 9300 block of West N.C. 152, Mooresville.

• Kimmie Ford, 44, was charged with communicating threats Sunday in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

• J’quasia Antonia Mejias, 22, was charged with simple assault Sunday on N.C. 152, China Grove.

• Leonardo Soto, 21, was charged with possession of a controlled substance Sunday in the 100 block of Earnhardt Road.

• Anthony Alan Smart, 54, was charged with assault on a female Sunday in the 11100 block of Old Concord Road, Rockwell.
