Lee is championship manager for Women’s U.S. Open

CHARLESTON, S.C. — Salisbury native Allison Lee is the USGA championship manager for the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open at the Country Club of Charleston, May 30-June 2.

As manager, Lee’s responsibilities include coordinating host site, community and media relations, securing accommodations for championship guests, overseeing the volunteer program, supporting the development of the master site plan and permitting efforts, and assisting in the development of the public safety plan to include parking, security, transportation, fire and medical operations.

Lee is a 2009 graduate of Salisbury High School, where she earned All-Rowan County and All-Central Carolina Conference honors multiple times.

She went on to Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C., where she was a member of the women’s golf team, competing in 24 career tournaments. Lee’s best collegiate individual performance came as a senior, finishing third place. She fired a career-low 72 as a sophomore and currently ranks 21st all-time in scoring average at Winthrop.

Lee has been with the USGA since graduating from Winthrop in 2013 and has been involved in several U.S. Open events, for men and women.

Lee is the daughter of Brian and Melody Lee of Salisbury. Brian Lee is the professional at Warrior Golf Club in China Grove.
