KANNAPOLIS — A man and his two dogs were killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run accident.

The traffic crash occurred at 1:41 a.m. near the intersection of Bethpage Road and Leonard Avenue. When police officers arrived on the scene, they found Santiago Esteban and his two dogs dead.

Jones remains in the Cabarrus County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond.
