Beginning runners class starts Tuesday, March 12
Salisbury Parks and Recreation, Novant Health and the Salisbury Rowan Runners will again offer a class for those interested in learning to run on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Civic Center. The series will continue for eight consecutive Tuesdays, offering classroom instruction each night on various subjects that include shoes and equipment, nutrition, injury prevention, stretching and strengthening, safety and more.
Each evening will close out with a run/walk session that begins with a half mile on Tuesday. Class participants will work their way up to the 5K distance at 3.1 miles. They will receive a training dri-fit T-shirt, a one-year membership in Salisbury Rowan Runners and a diploma upon completion of the course. Please bring bottled water and be dressed for exercise. Each participant will get individual instruction and a training schedule.
