Police Blotter: Man arrested on multiple outstanding warrants during traffic stop

SALISBURY — Damon Antone Cotton, 27, of Salisbury was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants during a routine traffic stop Friday.

Salisbury Police Department officers discovered that Cotton had three outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court. One warrant was issued in Cabarrus County and two in Rowan.

Charges included misdemeanor failure to appear on a charge of speeding and driving with his license revoked in Cabarrus County; felony failure to appear on a charge of fleeing to elude officers, probation violation and hit-and-run in Salisbury; and misdemeanor failure to appear on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon and driving with his license revoked.

Cotton was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $41,000 secured bond.

• A woman reported a stolen vehicle Sunday in the 100 block of West Fisher Street.

• A man reported an assault Sunday in the 300 block of South Arlington Street.

• A man reported a stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of West Innes Street on Sunday.

• Kevin Donnell Lynch, 37, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 1500 block of South Jake Alexander Boulevard.

• Surrell Nicole Thomas, 21 was charged Sunday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer in the 600 block of East Bank Street.

• David Isaiah Hopper was charged Sunday with misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer in the 600 block of East Bank Street.

In Rowan County  Sheriff’s Office reports:

• A woman reported a larceny from a motor vehicle Thursday in the 1100 block of Forest Oaks Drive.

• A woman reported a stolen vehicle Thursday in the 900 block of Peeler Road.

• Agility Fuel Systems of Salisbury reported that a shipment was stolen Thursday.

• A man reported an assault Thursday in the 300 block of Liberty Road in Gold Hill.

• A man reported his air compressor stolen in the 100 block of Tammy Road on Thursday.

• Quentin Michael Carr, 21, was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia Thursday near the intersection of West N.C. 152 and Millbridge Road in China Grove.

• Edward Lee Chandler, 39, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance in  the 1100 block of Oak Breeze Drive in Mooresville.

• Rachel Geneva Whetstine, 30, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in the 300 block of Sylvan Road in China Grove.
