WELCOME  —  North Davidson beat South Rowan, 46-6, in a Central Carolina Conference game played on Friday at Palmer Field.

South (1-4, 1-2 CCC) scored late in the game, with Andrew Jones getting the touchdown on an 84-yard pass from Christian Reynolds.

The Black Knights had thumped Oak Grove (35-0) and East Davidson (52-0) in their previous CCC games.

The Black Knights, ranked fifth in 2A, held the short-handed Raiders to minus-43 yards in the first half.

South was missing key offensive players. QB Drew Huffman was injured in last week’s game at Ledford. Demarcus Blackwell, who had been South’s leading rusher, is no longer on the team.

North Davidson scored on seven of eight possessions. Most of the second half was played with a running clock.

North Davidson (4-1, 3-0 CCC)  got its first points on a safety.

Basketball star Themus Fulks is also a fine football player and caught three TD passes for the Black Knights.

North Davidson owns a two-game winning streak against South for the first time in the history of the series.

North Davidson hasn’t been shut out in its last 115 games and has scored at least 10 points in 40 straight outings.

South will host Oak Grove (2-3, 1-2) next Friday as the Raiders celebrate homecoming. North Davidson plays at West Davidson (1-4, 0-3).
