SALISBURY — Friends of a Salisbury couple found dead in their Jackson Road home have created a fundraising campaign to help offset the costs of their funerals.

Rowan County Sheriff’s investigators say April and Raymond “Ray” Anglin, both 43, were found dead on Tuesday, as a result of what’s believed to be a murder-suicide.

Friends of the family expressed their sadness after learning of the news and decided to create a fundraising campaign via the site GoFundMe.

Angie Patton may have only known the Anglins for a few years, but she felt compelled to create the fundraising campaign after thinking of the couple’s three children.

“This was a wonderful, loving and friendly family,” Patton said.

She said April and Ray were married for 25 years and were high school sweethearts. The couple owned Shark Tank Bar and Billiards on South Main Street.

“I only knew them for a few years but they were very good friends of ours. They were always so happy and in love. They both loved their children and grandchildren so much. They welcomed everyone into their family,” Patton said.

Patton said April was so giving and always a happy person to be around.

“Their families are devasted. I just thought it would be nice for the community to pull together to help this family in their time of need,” Patton said.

Patton wrote on the fundraising site that the family is struggling to come to grips with this huge loss in their lives.

“Please everyone let’s show them that they are not alone and we are all here to help them in any way we can,” she said on the site.

The couple leaves behind three children — Tyler, Kailey and Megyan, and two grandchildren.

Patton asks that any amount would help with the funeral expenses and help the youngest, Megyan, who is 15 and still in high school.

Patton said Megyan will need clothes, supplies and other items since the start of school is around the corner.

A benefit ride is being planned for September with proceeds to benefit the children.
