Cullen Davis pitched a no-hitter as West Rowan beat South Rowan, 2-0, in Junior Legion action on Monday.

Davis and Andrew Kennerly had run-scoring singles for West’s runs.

Carson won against Kannapolis (A.L. Brown), 17-6, on Monday.

Aaron Misenheimer, winning pitcher Emory Taylor,  Jake Harris, Logan Rogers and Garrett Jacobs had two hits apiece.   Jacobs had four RBIs for Carson.

Carson lost on Sunday to Mocksville, 6-4.

Carson (19-5, 6-4) hosts South Rowan tonight, with action starting at 6 p.m.

Legion baseball

Bryce Marsh and Tristan Marsh homered as Randolph County clobbered Kernersville, 21-3, on  Monday on the final day of the regular season.

Randolph Post 45’s four Marshes, Bryce, Tristan, Blake and Trevor had 12 RBIs. Blake had three hits and knocked in five.

Randolph had three six-run innings.

Randolph tied High Point for first place in the Northern Division with a 9-3 record.

High Point beat Davidson County, 6-1, on Monday, behind a strong pitching effort by Landen Smith.

Post 87 scored five runs in the seventh to break a 1-all tie.

High Point and Randolph will have first-round byes. A coin flip today will decide the No. 1 seed from the division as they split with each other and also had an identical record against every team in the division. Both split with third-place Winston-Salem and fourth-place Eastern Randolph.

As the No. 1 seed for the Southern Division, Rowan County won’t return to action until the second round begins. Rowan will be playing the winner of the Stanly County-Eastern Randolph series and will be at home for Game 1.

That Stanly-ER series starts in Ramseur tonight.

Kannapolis starts a best-of-three series with Kernersville tonight at home.

Mocksville hosts Greensboro tonight. Concord is home against Davidson County. Mooresville goes to Winston-Salem.

Rowan Little League

Rowan Little League’s 8U softball team beat East Surry, 16-6, to win the District 2  championship.

Rowan has also won the 10U and 12U district championships.

The Rowan 8U team advances to the state tournament on July 7-8 in Sylva.

Members of the 8U team are: Addison Barrier, Ava Baxter,  Peyton Cheek,  Kaylee Connor,  Chelsee Coughenour,  Abigail Drechsler,  Bently Hager, Makynzie Melchor,   Hayden Myers,  Reese Poole and Kierra Shulenburger.

Donnell Poole is the manager. Assistants are Jeff Bernhardt, Josh Melchor, Natalie Poole and Andrew Barrier.

Intimidators

ROME, Ga.    Carlos Perez singled three times, and Parker Rigler allowed just three hits over six innings as the Kannapolis Intimidators beat the Rome Braves 2-1 on Monday.

West hoops camp

Dates for Falcon Basketball Camp are July 9-11, with the camp from 9-1 each day.
