Letter: Drivers’ respect means a lot

I wish to commend most drivers in the city of Salisbury for stopping as they met a funeral procession last week.
My family recently experienced the unexpected passing of my brother, and as the funeral procession made its way along Jake Alexander Boulevard, I was very taken with the vehicles that stopped.
I was taught all my life to stop for a funeral procession to show respect for the deceased and family. Yes, there were some that did not stop, but I suppose there are a few in every crowd.
I was especially impressed with the Food Lion trucks that pulled over and put their emergency flashers on as the procession passed. What a enormous show of respect.
Salisbury/Rowan County — what a wonderful place to call home!
